Hi everyone!
My son is upgrading his work laptop from a T440p to a T470 and is tossing the T440p to me, (see, if ya raise them right.... ).Lenovo T440p M.2 Slot
I'm planning a few mods, (my son is a dev, but left the machine 'stock'), mainly the screen and touchpad. I also want to upgrade the drive to either a 128gb M.2 with a 1 TB drive for data in the main HDD slot, or 128 2.5 SSD and swap out the CD/DVD for a caddy to hold the 1 TB drive.

M.2 SSD in WWAN-slot To further expound on that: the T440 supports an M.2 2242 (22mm x 42mm size) SATA SSD. I'm sure of this because I installed one (Transcend MTS400) in a friend's T440 earlier this year. EN-Installing a M.2 22x42 SSD memory from the Transcend brand in the Lenovo thinkpad T440P. With its award winning keyboard, up to a Full HD anti-glare display with IPS technology and ultra long battery life the T440p will be with you every step of the way, wherever your business takes you.

I've been looking at the specs and I can't find any information on the M.2 speeds for a SSD. Is it better to get a regular 2.5 SSD for this machine or will the M.2 provide faster throughput? Theoretically, the M.2 should be faster, but as I said, I can't find any details.
Thanks!
zogHello,
I have been planning to add a 240GB/256GB SSD to the spare M.2 Slot on my motherboard (2242) - T440P
I have narrowed down my options to some options:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-TS24 ... ers&sr=1-2
https://www.amazon.co.uk/KingDian-240GB ... ers&sr=1-7
https://www.amazon.co.uk/XuBa-Solid-Lap ... rs&sr=1-57
The XuBA Drive and Kingdian drives are £10 cheaper than the transcend, and all m.2 2242's with SATA 3 interface are more expensive than standard SSD's.

I just want to check: A) will all three of these drives work, or will i face dificulties with them working?
and B) is thr transcend that much better than the cheaper ones? They are all low cost brands as far as U know?
